Airlift is awarded another design contract from Saab

Airlift's design organisation (DOA) has been awarded a new, major contract from the Swedish defence and security company Saab for the conversion of a helicopter to an air ambulance.

Air ambulance

The helicopter to be converted is of the type Eurocopter AS365 N3. It is going to be used in Gällivare, Sweden, and is operated by Scandinavian MediCopter (SMC).

Design and modification

The solutions are developed jointly by Saab's aircraft maintenance facility, SMC and Airlift. Design and certification will be handled by Airlift, whereas production and installation will be performed at Saab's aircraft maintenance facility at Östersund.

Returning clients

Airlift's design organisation has existed since 2007 and has already completed similar projects for SMC in Sweden and Multiflight Ltd. in the UK. Airlift's Head of Design, Arild Ryland, is especially pleased to receive new orders from existing clients, and sees it as a sign that Saab and SMC are happy with Airlift as a contractor.
